We have some
opportunities working directly for the centre as a befriender or
office volunteer.
Our befriending service
provides a caring contact for people who might otherwise find
themselves isolated, and is greatly appreciated by everyone we help.
We usually have a waiting list of people who would benefit from this
service.
You could make the difference to one of these people.
We can also put you in
touch with many local organisations who need volunteers.
There is a big range of
options, just a few of which are giving help with pre-reading
activities in schools,
supporting a local woman's project, helping to run sporting events,
pet-walking and gardening.
If you are interested,
contact one of our Volunteer Coordinators, who will invite you in for
a informal chat at Beeston or Eastwood. (See News
and Events for Eastwood interviews or click here to contact
us).
If you tell us what sort
of work would interest you, we will point you in the right
direction. We have leaflets and contact details for all the local
groups we deal with.
All the opportunities
with other groups can be found on the Do It website.
We can tell you all about it, but if it is not convenient for you to come in and meet
us and you do not want to volunteer for our own vacancies, you can access
the Do It website from our Links page.
If you don't have your
own computing facilities, you can use the computers in the Beeston
office resource room to search for volunteering opportunities.
Please contact us to check availability.
