Further details can be found here
First Steps
The First Steps project was set up to help support people with, or recovering from, mental health issues into volunteering. The support is tailored to the individual needs by providing gentle encouragement without any pressure.

We have had success in raising the clients' self-esteem and confidence, enabling and empowering them to play a part in the community and move on in their lives.
Group support
Centre staff can provide advice on setting up new groups. They can assist existing groups with governance issues, creation of policies, production of annual reports etc. and give advice on fund-raising.

Voluntary Action Broxtowe is also responsible for setting up networks and forums for community groups and runs the Broxtowe Community Network. We also act as a link to statutory sector partners.
Job Clubs
Voluntary Action Broxtowe is fortunate to have funding currently to work with unemployed people. We’ve built a 12-week programme, a mixture of training sessions and networking sessions.

The training will help you develop the skills you need to apply for a job – a job in itself. The networking sessions will give you a chance to share with others in your situation, to develop strategies and provide mutual support. There are two clubs, one for Beeston and one for Eastwood and environs.

If you are interested contact Richard (Beeston) or Colleen (Eastwood).
Training courses
Voluntary Action Broxtowe offers a large range of training courses including Basic Food Hygiene and First Aid and Lifesaving Skills. These courses are run on a regular basis and aim to provide skills that are useful to volunteers and voluntary sector groups. The autumn training programme for Beeston has been recently updated and is available on our Training page which can be found here.
Room hire
We have a number of rooms of differing sizes available for hire. A brochure detailing the rooms can be downloaded Here.

Please contact Alison at the centre for further details and bookings.
Desk Rental
Due to the increase in space allowed by moving to our new premises this winter past we are now able to offer a limited number of desk spaces for rental. These are available for rental by Charitable groups and Community Groups. For further information please contact the centre and we will be happy to help.
Reprographics
The Volunteer Centre has printing, colour photocopying and lamination equipment and can produce leaflets, poster, annual reports etc. A small charge is made for this service.

Further details and a price list can be found on our brochure which can be viewed here.
