Voluntary Action Broxtowe is pleased to announce that we have had a successful application to the National lottery and have been awarded £466,380 over 5 years. So we have lots to celebrate!

The funding will enable us to work with volunteers whose first language is not English and who live in the south of the borough. This will be building on a successful pilot project funded by the European Social Fund. Last year alone we attracted 277 ethnic minority volunteers many of whom were struggling with language difficulties which held them back when it came to finding employment or even voluntary work.

Lottery funding will also enable Voluntary Action Broxtowe to work with unemployed people in the north of the borough to assist them via a special training programme to learn all the necessary skills which will give them the very best chance of securing paid employment.

We hope to have further details on these two projects in the near future
